Meet The Artist

Introducing a highly distinguished artist, celebrated for her unique ability to convey deep love and boundless creativity through the profound journey of motherhood.
She specializes in the art forms of Nature Landscapes, Motherhood Art, and African Art, showcasing a remarkable talent for capturing the essence of her paintings while exploring Texas and its captivating allure.

With a background in art and a deep passion for motherhood, I have embarked on an inspiring journey that has shaped my artistic pursuits and creative projects. As a new mom, I found immense inspiration for my artwork, poetry, and other creative endeavors, including my upcoming second children's book, which is currently undergoing illustration.

Motherhood has become my muse, opening up a world of possibilities for my identity as an artist, poet, and creative individual. Navigating the dual roles of artist and mom has enriched my creative process, revealing a fascinating harmony that I continue to explore.
Embracing motherhood as a catalyst for transformation, I have learned to trust, surrender, experiment, and have faith in myself and my craft, much like the qualities required to be a successful artist and a devoted mother.
Through podcast episodes such as Artist/Mother, Art by Andrea Ehrhardt, and the Busy Mom Pumping Podcast, I delve into the intricacies of these parallel journeys, emphasizing the importance of self-trust, surrender, and experimentation in both artistic pursuits and motherhood.
In addition to my personal growth, I am dedicated to shedding light on various aspects of motherhood that often remain unnoticed by society. With my collection of motherhood art, I aim to make the invisible visible, showcasing the daily experiences of working moms, stay-at-home moms, and creative/artist moms.

As a self-taught artist with over 30 years of experience, I have explored a wide range of mediums, including acrylics, oils, watercolors, and digital art. My primary mediums are acrylics and digital art. Residing in Austin, Texas, I hold a BA in Art History and Anthropology from the University of California, Irvine, as well as an MBA from San Francisco State University. I am also a Certified Art Therapy Coach.

In 2019, I had the privilege of illustrating a children's book titled "Mary and Her New Friends," written by a fellow mom and Pakistani immigrant who is a professor of child education and development. The book beautifully portrays the story of a young handicapped Pakistani girl who forms new friendships by showcasing her talent for drawing henna patterns on hands.
Currently, I am illustrating a second book set to be published in the summer of 2023.
In addition to my artistic pursuits, I host Paint & Sip events, teach workshops for both kids and adults (both in-person and virtually), provide art therapy coaching and art business workshops, and lead meditation sessions for corporate companies.
Recently, I have ventured into mural art, focusing on creating captivating murals for nursery rooms, kids' rooms, businesses, and daycares. However, above all else, my greatest creation and everlasting source of artistic inspiration is my beautiful daughter, Makenna. Named after grace and beauty, she continues to inspire and amaze me.
